HOW DO SK8HOUSE CLASSES WORK?
Every skating pathway at Sk8house begins with our STARZ Learn to Skate program.
Designed for children, teens and adults, STARZ provides a structured, supportive introduction to skating — building the skills and confidence needed for every discipline we offer.
Our program focuses on:
- Balance, control and coordination
- Safe and correct skating technique
- Confidence at your own pace
- Development for both quad and inline skaters
How progression works:
- Five progressive levels
- Skills build logically at each stage
- Monthly assessments
- Progression based on demonstrated competency — not age
- Certificates awarded as skaters advance
You don’t need to decide on a direction straight away. We focus on building strong foundations first, then as skills and confidence grow, skaters can step into one — or even multiple — of the below pathways at a pace that feels right for them.

SKATE CLASS PATHWAYS
ARTISTIC SKATING
Performance, Precision and Expression
Artistic skating combines athletic ability with creativity and musical interpretation.
As skaters progress, they may explore:
- Freeskating – jumps, spins and choreographed routines
- Dance skating – rhythm and musical timing
- Figure skating – edge control and precision
- Precision skating – synchronised team formations
Progression pathway:
- STARZ → Bronze / Dance / Freeskating Classes → Sk8house Figure Skating Club
Through club membership, skaters may train and compete at club, state, national or international levels — if they choose.
Competition is optional. Skill development and enjoyment always come first.
SPEED SKATING
Power, Technique and Racing
Speed skating focuses on efficiency, strength and strategy.
Training develops:
- Strong skating technique
- Acceleration and control
- Endurance and fitness
- Track and road racing skills
Progression pathway:
- STARZ → Beginner Speed → Intermediate Speed → Sk8house Speed Club
Club training provides structured development for skaters who want to pursue racing and higher-level performance including national or international levels — if they choose.
